Attendance Policy

Attendance at Bop Stars

At Bop Stars, we want every child to have a fantastic experience. Regular attendance helps children build confidence, make friends and get the most out of our classes, clubs and holiday camps.

To help sessions run safely and smoothly, we ask all families to follow the guidance below.

Arriving on Time

Please ensure your child arrives at the advertised start time for their session.

Our activities begin promptly and often include important welcome activities, safety briefings and introductions. Arriving on time helps children settle in and ensures they don't miss key information.

If you know you are going to be late, please let us know as soon as possible where possible.

Collection

Children must be collected promptly at the end of their booked session.

For holiday camps, wrap around care must be booked in advance if collection will be after the standard finish time.

Only authorised adults listed on your booking may collect your child. If someone different is collecting, please let us know before the end of the session wherever possible.

We may ask for the agreed collection password before releasing your child.

Absence

If your child is unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible by email or by contacting us through our usual communication channels.

Although we appreciate being informed, we are generally unable to offer refunds or credits for missed sessions except where required by law or where stated in our booking terms.

Illness

Children should not attend if they are unwell or may be contagious.

Please follow current NHS guidance regarding common childhood illnesses, including sickness and diarrhoea. Children should be symptom-free for the recommended period before returning.

If a child becomes unwell during a session, we will contact a parent or emergency contact and may ask for them to be collected.

Unexplained Non-Attendance

If a child is expected to attend a session and does not arrive without prior notice, we may contact the parent or guardian to confirm their whereabouts. This forms part of our safeguarding responsibilities.

Holiday Camps

Children should only attend on the dates and times that have been booked.

If you need to amend your booking before your camp begins, please contact us as soon as possible. We will always do our best to help where availability allows, although changes cannot be guaranteed.

Persistent Late Collection

We understand that unexpected delays can happen.

If you are running late, please contact us immediately so we can reassure your child and make appropriate arrangements.

Persistent late collection may result in additional charges where applicable and may affect future bookings if it becomes an ongoing issue.

Our Commitment

Our attendance procedures are designed to:

  • Keep every child safe.

  • Ensure accurate registers are maintained.

  • Meet our safeguarding and Ofsted requirements.

  • Help sessions start and finish smoothly.

  • Provide the best possible experience for all children.

Thank you for supporting us by ensuring your child attends on time and is collected promptly.
